We tackle this infuriating case of Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy that is likely the worst example of it. Dee Dee Blanchard kept her daughter, Gypsy Rose in a torturous life, isolated from everyone and forced her to take all kinds of medicine and undergo many unnecessary surgeries and procedures. And, she became a minor celebrity as a result while scamming charities, good people, the government, media, and everyone else she came into contact with. Gypsy was perfectly healthy, but Dee Dee kept her imprisoned, and convinced that she was deathly ill. Even to the point that she convinced Gypsy Rose and everyone else that she was younger than she actually was so that she could continue her torture for years after Gypsy turned 18.
